Deathcrush - Collective Brain Infektion (2014)
"Collective Brain Infektion" suddenly pops out and promises to be an interesting debut album and built with personality.
From Sassari these Deathcrush come and discover a band can do and do much apparently since we have more than 40 minutes of Death / Black Metal with egregious and proper invoice, never praise a triumph budgeted without having made prior to the accounts with the same number of reality, sir, to Deathcrush like things done well without being presumptuous trivially, and the score is raised by force of circumstances.
Their moniker is actually courageous because it brings back to mind a certain scene from the old Scandinavian Black Metal twenty years ago, which is why I was initially afraid of being in front of the usual band of the norm "unhinged." Glad I was wrong anyway!
"Collective Brain Infektion" shows up for what is right from the start: violent, brutal, fairly technical and structured using modern styles and even going to fish (as a tribute) even discographies overseas (" Slaves Of Hypocrisy "is a wonderful statement of the type of Death Metal that could play the Nile, presented here, however, in a personal and compelling.)
I was pleased to hear a studio-album-and, moreover, the first-in which has been channeled many influences derived from at least ten rock bands and the Black Death and appear without an end in itself or boring or ridiculous, it means that the passion of some musicians still persists over time and that takes care of a huge responsibility musical (also historical) giving the audience an interesting work.
Voucher everything from voices, deep and dynamic riffs, the drumming very precise about which supports virtually every note of our who, remember, are in three and create a sonic impact of ten.
Good entry into society then! For maiora!
Deathcrush : no, we are not faced with a cover band Mayhem , nor in any case to a group dedicated to the most extreme fringe of the Norwegian landscape. Our play a genre that yes indeed has some reference to the black, but that is mainly a death metal debtor of what I would call almost the second phase plan, when it began to press more on the gas so to speak.
A demo, a mini-CD, a split and then finally 'Collective Brain Infektion' . Job that starts a bit 'on the sly, at the beginning displaces a bit' - perhaps because of a vocal line too brutal-oriented than what the songs require - then grows and explodes in all its power. If you already 'Total Misanthropic Sick' allowed a glimpse of good lines and clever tempo changes, with the limits of thrash riffing at times, it is with 'Venomous Priest Of Deception' that things get interesting and tasty. And from here the work takes off.
Excellent entries that refer to parts scream at the dawn of black metal, the title track to an intense 'Necrogod Devastation' , pregnant, however, a flavor brutal in its second half. Instrumental closing, entrusted to a very brief but very clever in leaving their mark 'Regression To Decay' . Note that fade in and fade-out leaves that sense of restlessness that makes you listen to the album.
A job that has no special points for originality, this' Collective Brain Infection ' , but while doing a sort of collage of the main reference names ( Morbid Angel , Hate Eternal , but also something of the Nile ) the Deathcrush can create tracks of good workmanship. Not bad for a first attempt in the long run.
